Have you ever noticed that we’re surrounded by signs telling us not to do things?

Have you ever noticed that we’re surrounded by signs telling us not to do things? There are signs, notices and labels everywhere that start with the word ‘NO’. Where are the signs that tell us where we can have a barbecue, or a ball game, or go swimming, or have any fun at all? We certainly haven’t seen any, and we’re quite upset about it.

We thought there was an opportunity for some mischief here. This is where you come in… We want photographs. Lots of photographs, please. Whenever you’re out and/or about with a camera (any sort of camera will do, even if it’s just the one on your phone), take a picture of every ‘NO’ sign you come across and send them to us. Why are we asking for photographs? Well, we’re not quite sure really, that’s the honest answer. We just know that all of these signs can be used to make something interesting, something that makes a statement. What if the shoe was on the other foot? How would these bossy signs like it if WE told them what to do, where to go, who to be? Come to think of it, when did we start letting inanimate objects control us? Didn’t we make them in the first place? We think it’s time to take charge and start calling the shots again – those signs work for us now.

As soon as we decide what we’re going to create, you’ll be the first to know. Promise.

Pay attention now, this bit’s a little complicated: Send your photos to studio@nebweb.co.uk as full colour jpegs (we’ll NeBanise them for you, free of charge).
• Files must be no larger than 5 megabytes.
• Please name your files like this: fullname_01.jpg, fullname_02 etc. (e.g. johnnysegment_01.jpg)

And don’t forget to include a note in the email to let usknow where you took the pictures! Closing date: July 15 2009
